Labor Day Weekend Chicago Wedding
Kim and Michael had a Labor Day Weekend Chicago Wedding. My wife and I got married on Independence Day weekend in Chicago, and so did our friends Chuck & Mary. Jennifer had a wonderful wedding year before last on Labor Day weekend.
Do you think there are more couples planning weddings on three-day weekends?
Certainly everyone that knows them will be happy for them, but they might not be so crazy about the date.
“People make plans for holiday weekends,” says Esther, a wedding planner in Chicago. “Save the dates early are key. We want some time off. Deciding on a holiday weekend could cause a lot of people to be like, ‘Are you sure?’ ”
It’s not easy. It’s additional time for guests to travel. But it does give you an extra day to travel. Just know you might be interrupting peoples traditional plans.
Can you save money? Do you want to make it easy for traveling guests?
“It’s certainly easier with the extra day,” said Theresa, who had her Labor Day Weekend Chicago Wedding. “Guests traveling from the coasts need the extra time.”
Often more than half your guests could be traveling. “Having the Monday holiday for travel makes it easier,” she said.
“It’s a longer party too,” said Tiffany, who had her Labor Day Weekend Chicago Wedding on the northwest side. “There’s more opportunity to hang out with your guests.”
If more party and hanging out are what you want, a Labor Day Weekend Chicago Wedding might just fit. Saving money on a holiday weekend might not be that easy. If you find a place that discounts for the Monday of a holiday, check it out. But don’t expect much on that Saturday, because it’s a hot date.
Still if you like it, and you don’t mind paying extra it could be very memorable.
Employees might have to get paid holiday pay. Vendors might have a premium, or be all booked up.
