Spoke to a former bride today. Her wedding was at the Hotel W, when it still had the rotating reception area with those stunning views of the city and the lake.
She had begun to register at Macy’s, but the customer service rep said something that bothered her.
“You haven’t got much time!”
This was not the first time she’d heard this. It seemed as if this was like the hundreth wedding vendor (or so it seemed to her) that had said this.
My bride said: “OK, I’ll tell you what. You put all this stuff back, we’re taking our business elsewhere.”
It was July, and her wedding was in November.
Over-reacting? Or the wrong thing to say at the wrong time?
Colin Cowie eloquently talks about “Registry Etiquette”.
