You’ve heard of this Bride and Groom First Look. It’s that moment when you see each other for the first time on the day.
What do you think of first looks? I had a chat with some of my brides and grooms about this. There are some good and bad things about it
Let’s talk about the good first.
1. It can be such a moment. As you can see from the picture above. This is an advanced version. Because you’re looking at the moment before. And you’re creating the deep feelings going into this sweet moment. Great idea!
2. Gets pictures on your list out of the way. It can save time. But you have to make sure you’re all ready and available. Don’t stress. You can make it happen.
3. The reactions are priceless. If you are who I think you are, that is excited, nervous, happy, and ready for more… Then you must take advantage of this once in a lifetime moment. It, like so many others, will feed one by one into the next. Creating this path to adventure, with romance and the thrill of celebrating. It’s good to be alive…enjoy.
Now onto the bad.
1. It’s not traditional. Some people like to hold to certain traditions. If you want that first look to be when he’s up at the front of the ceremony and you’re walking down the aisle. Then that could be the first look.
2. There may not be time. If for some reason your timeline doesn’t allow for it, that’s OK. But I know like other wonderful things you’re planning that you can make this happen if you want to.
3. There could be some tears. Starting out the day with tears might not be the most photogenic choice. But if you are ready to feels ALL the emotions of your day then go for it. This First Look will only happen once in your life. And if there is a little glossy tear in your eye it will make the picture, and the moment, even more meaningful.
May your smiles always be bigger than your tears, and may your life hold many happy tears.
So, what do you think of first looks?
