How man DJ’s does it take to mediocre a wedding?
“Yeah but you get free beer.”
Well, if your DJ totally ruins your wedding, that could be the first indication that he’s not up to the task.
Warning signs could be no returned calls, promises not kept, or worse items forgotten.
But that would be all too late.
How can you tell sooner?
When you walk into the DJ company’s office (it’s a Starbuck’s or Panera bread?!!!) take a look at the people. Not just the person you are consulting with for the sale. Do the people at the office look sharp, happy to be there, focused? Or are they just hanging around with no apparent thing to do? If you see a good looking crew, you’re probably fine.
Then look at the DJ you are consulting with. Wait, you don’t get to meet the DJ till later, over the phone only, or not until your day? Run!
Will the DJ you’re talking with be the DJ for your wedding? Is he well groomed, well spoken. Does he look tired (working two or three other jobs maybe)? Does he lack eye contact (weak hand shake)? Does he not have the answers to all your questions? Ultimately if he doesn’t give a crap about all of the above, he won’t give a sincere performance at your party.
Bottom line: If you don’t feel it’s the right fit, just move on. There are plenty of us out there that care.
