Pets At Weddings
You can have Pets at Weddings. Pets are part of the family. And may participate in your ceremony and\or reception. Here are some things to consider:
There are plenty of “Don’ts” and awesome Do’s.
Your pets personality. Does your pet enjoy being the star? Will they be comfortable, obedient, and well behaved? Have a handler, bodyguard, and/or sitter available to help.
Does your facility allow pets? If not perhaps just in your engagement pics or portraits after the ceremony.
Like to play dress up? We once had a wedding ceremony for our Rottweiler Harley with a neighbors dog, Shyla. Dressed up, walk down the aisle, music. Totally silly. But they weren’t buying the outfits. Make sure your pet is comfortable with what they’re wearing.
Speaking of comfort, avoid anything toxic in the flowers or decor.
Are any of your guests allergic to animals? Give them a heads up.
Give your photographer a heads up. They’ll be prepared to catch that crazy moment when your pup comes bounding down the aisle to be at your side.
Ready to include your Pets at Weddings?
There are plenty of options.
- Walk down the aisle
- Bring the wedding ring
- Pull a wagon with the ring bearer
- Fetch the bouquet
- Share the ring pillow at the front
- Have your bird friend whistle a song or say something at the appropriate time
- [or DANCE!]
Who will take care of your best friend after the ceremony, while you are at the reception, or gone on your honeymoon?

What I love about Found Chicago is their devotion to the dogs they serve. You’ll really appreciate they’re awesome rehab, foster, and adoption service, too.
