Every 3rd Saturday of May is Armed Forces Day. Let me tell you about one of our wedding couples in the Armed Forces and share a little perspective on the history of this day. We honor all military members on Armed Forces Day.
Armed Forces Day
Before president Harry S. Truman pushed to create one holiday for the U.S. to thank our military for their service there were separate days for Army, Navy, Marine Corps and Air Force.
One of the reasons for this comes from the Armed Forces being unified by the Department of Defense.
Chicago Wedding DJs has a number of military families to which we’ve had the pleasure of serving as entertainment for their life changing celebrations.
One couple in particular is indicative of the military experience for married couples. Totally in love and devoted to each other no matter what. Especially applies to a military couple. Their sacrifice in this commitment extends to where they live, how they raise their family, how they connect with their extended families, and what it means to serve your country through your marriage.
The sacrifice of where they live depends solely on where the military spouse is stationed. And as you know this can change, often.
What impresses me the most is the level of skill and dedication this military couple has. And how they do it with the spirit of love for each other that brought them together. Through all the moves, through the changes in status, the growth in their family, and the extension of their military service.
So it is in the amazement and honor of this couple that I, and Chicago Wedding DJs, honor all our military service past, present, and future.
May you stay safe, guard our country with strength, and wherever possible carry forth the spirit of bringing peace to places very much in need of relief. We salute you.
