Planning surprise entertainment can go horribly wrong.
Like the time someone thought they could surprise their guests with a murder mystery.
It started with the lights going out, a blood curdling scream, and two detectives walking in. People left the room frightened in horror.
Or the time the brides mother (who already was not on the best terms with people) ordered two sensual dancers. The bride was not happy.
Most surprises are done with the best of intentions. Some are just selfish ways of incorporating personal preferences on someone else’s event. Not cool.
How To Plan Wedding Inspiration The Entertainment Surprise
The key is… know your audience.
That means choosing a surprise that they would have chosen themselves. Get it for them because they thought maybe it wasn’t a part of your vision. Or they thought it was impossibly extravagant.
If you can get your favorite movie star or pop star to crash the wedding, go for it. And here are some ideas that won’t freak people out (or break the bank).
For The Groom
Request the band or dj to play his favorite alma mater fight song.
BONUS: Better yet have the marching band bring it on.
This falls under the “know your guests”. If people are not into this you will waste your cash.
