This is Wedding Planning You Don’t Need To Do Right Away. You have a few wedding magazines, you’ve googled “how to plan a wedding,” So much to do. Here’s what, and what not, to do right away.
Wedding Planning You Don’t Need To Do Right Away
Decide On When
What time of year? What is your personal calendar like? How long do you want to have for planning? You might even want to check with a few of your VIP’s schedules. Already have a vendor in mind you can’t live without? Check their schedule as well.
Having a few dates in mind and being flexible on those dates will give you options.
What’s Your Budget
This really should be first. Because it will help you make all the decisions that follow. Having a range is a good start. Knowing how you spend helps as well. I like to think on the high end. It gives me better options.
But it is hard to lock down a number. If this is a challenge for you because you need more info, talk to a wedding planner.
Who Are You Inviting?
Thinking of inviting everyone? Wow, what a party. This is a great place to start. Make a list with EVERYONE on it. Then look at the budget and decide what you want more. The nicest choices and a few less people. Or all the people and less of other things.
What’s Your Wedding Style?
I think it’s great that you’ve been dreaming about this for a while. All those things you’ve imagined will fit into how you define your style for your wedding.
Knowing your vibe will help you. It’s your mantra. It’s your mission statement for creating the best wedding ever.
I’ve Got To Have It
You’ve chosen your style, the date, the budget, and the guests. The next will be finding a perfect fit for your venue.
What’s the distance from where everyone is traveling to your venue? Will you have the ceremony there? Are they available for your date? Get started on this right away.
What Not To Do
Things you don’t have to do right now are:
- The menu
- The invitations (although you’ll want to do save the dates.)
- Honeymoon planning
- Bridesmaid gifts
